2nd Membership Meeting Report

UCONN GEMA

2nd Membership Meeting Report 2/11/16

Here is the president’s summary for our 2nd membership meeting. We made tons of progress and announced the new website, created new GEMA positions, finished our mission statement, and posted a new group project.

Survey Results

We showed survey response breakdowns for our two survey in the areas of interestes (within the entertainment and media industries) and activities that new members are interested and willing to participate in.

Mission Statement

After much deliberation, this is what we came up with for our mission statement. We expect that as the club evolves, this will evolve with it. This is a good starting point to rally ourselves and future members around.

The UConn Graduate Entertainment & Media Association (GEMA) prepares students for careers in the entertainment and media industry through experiential activities, networking, and educational events.

GEMA is committed to professional development and leveraging innovation, leadership, and a deep understanding of the media industry. Our relationships with students, professionals, and alumni will help our members compete for top employment opportunities in all areas of entertainment, media, and other positions in the spotlight.

New UConn-based website:

Every member will get access to a members-only section, where we’ll post most of the club business going forward. Please take some time to fill out your profile so we can get to know one another. The Weebly site will be closed after the next meeting, so please take that 2nd survey before then.

Blogging & Digital Marketing Strategy:

Every member can contribute to the blog. Digital Marketing Strategy tactics testing and implementation. Both contributions are great resume items for club involvement.
