Mission Statement
The UConn Graduate Entertainment & Media Association (GEMA) prepares students for careers in the entertainment and media industry through experiential activities, networking, and educational events.
GEMA is committed to professional development and leveraging innovation, leadership, and a deep understanding of the media industry. Our relationships with students, professionals, and alumni will help our members compete for top employment opportunities in all areas of entertainment, media, and other positions in the spotlight.
Activities
GEMA’s activities are driven by the membership; if members are interested, we’ll do our best to include the activity over the course of the year. Our activities are particularly focused on attending conferences, bringing in speakers, networking, mentorship, creating an alumni network, workshops, and coordinating activities with other School of Business clubs when topics overlap, such as film finance, pitching, and digital distribution and marketing.
